Academic Credits for The VoiceCare Network Courses are available through Saint John’s University, Collegeville, MN
Bodymind and Voice Course offered annually for 4 graduate level semester credits
Continuing Courses offered for 3 graduate level semester credits per Continuing Course
Currently 2 different Continuing Courses are offered in alternate years.
Conducting Gesture and Voice
Participants have to have successfully completed the Bodymind and Voice Course to be able to enroll in the Continuing Courses.
Everyone attending the course will receive a certificate of participation, 53 instruction hours for the Bodymind and Voice Course and 33 hours for each of the Continuing Courses. These credit/contact hours are to be used for teacher recertification and continuing education credits.
Registering for Academic Credit is optional! The credits are offered through an accredited graduate school, and can be transferred (following guidelines of other graduate schools) into graduate programs at other institutions where the participant is enrolled in a graduate degree program.
Currently the cost per credit is $100.00
The online Course Registration Form gives you the option to sign up for credit at time of course registration.
In case you are not certain if you want to take the course for academic credit when registering for the course,
signing up for credit at a later time is possible at any time– and will be completed after the course has begun.
Payment for the academic credit can be made at that time.
Participant must attend all course sessions. In case of possible conflicts contact Axel Theimer right away regarding exceptions
At the end of each day, write a summary of REACTIONS to the day:
Was there any one topic/session/realization/ information that you felt will make a difference in your teaching or singing?
These are not meant to be the same as class notes taken during the actual sessions
Summary can be in one to several-word phrases, ‘buzzwords’ or ‘light bulb’ ideas
These can be turned in at the end of the course, after the last session, or together with your take home plans
At the end of the course write five TAKE HOME PLANS (No ‘minimum’ number of pages)

Plan I: Describe one specific way that you plan to apply principles of “Human compatible learning” in the ‘real world’
Plan II: Describe one or more way that you plan to apply principles of physically and acoustically efficient speaking and/or singing in your real world
Plan III: Describe one specific way that you plan to apply principles of voice health and voice protection in your real world
Plan IV: Describe one specific way you plan to apply principles of efficient body use and/or conducting gestures in your real world
Plan V: Describe one specific way you plan to apply methods of teaching expressive voice skills with pre-born, infant, toddler, pre-school school-age children, changing voice adolescents or older adult voices in you real world OR Use information learned in the course about the above groups of people in any way
Attend our comprehensive Bodymind and Voice Course. Experience the practical application of the information presented in the groundbreaking text book Bodymind and Voice. This course is a pre-requisite for our in-depth Continuing Courses: Personal Voice Education and Conducting Gestures and Voice.
